In the second century of man, the first Devi has battled to the gates of Bala' fortress while commanding an army of Durapasya. Upon breaching the wall Bala takes control of the Durapasya turning them against her. Breaking free she engages Lord Bala and eventually beats him, blinding him in the process.
Bodha, king of the Gods, then imprisons Bala deep within the earth for all eternity. Lord Bala escapes, however, in a flurry of bats.
In the present day, an Aswara (heavenly assassin), named Kratha has become a freelance assassin who works for the highest bidder. Her heavenly powers making her a force to be reckoned with. And, she has just been contracted by Lord Bala.
